What is MYOTAPE?
Designed by internationally renowned breathing coach, Patrick McKeown, TedX speaker and author of The Oxygen Advantage and The Breathing Cure, MYOTAPE safely brings the lips together to support and restore nasal breathing during wakefulness and sleep.
Mouth breathing contributes to snoring, sleep apnea, poor sleep quality and CPAP non-compliance. It causes serious developmental issues in children and is proven to negatively affect physical and mental wellbeing in adults.
The secret to a good night’s sleep lies in nasal breathing. Without snoring, sleep apnea symptoms, CPAP non-compliance and a stuffy nose, you will sleep better and wake feeling refreshed.
MYOTAPE can be worn by adults, teenagers and children aged 4 years and older.
why myotape?
Unlike other lip tapes, MYOTAPE does not cover the mouth. Instead, it gently surrounds the mouth, bringing the lips together with a light, elastic tension that helps to maintain lip closure and ensure nasal breathing.
MYOTAPE is for:
- Open mouth breathers
- Adults
- Children over four years of age
- CPAP users
- Non-snorers (and snores)
MYOTAPE is:
- Easy to use
- Safe
- Hypoallergenic
MYOTAPE is made from a soft material that stretches easily. Once it’s in place, the tape stimulates the skin, triggering a neurological response in the muscles of the face. This ‘reminds’ you to close your mouth, and teaches the brain to switch dominance to nasal breathing when the lips are gently held together.
Important: Please remove MYOTAPE gently after use. Every care is taken to ensure that MYOTAPE is hypoallergenic. However, if you or your child develops skin irritation from wearing the tape, please take a break from using the tape for a day or two. If irritation continues, please discontinue use.
